Some places deserve more than a quick visit. The Clare Valley is one of them.

This private experience is for two guests who want the freedom to enjoy the region properly. I’ll collect you from your Clare Valley accommodation and spend the day showing you a valley I know well, from its cellar doors and country roads to the stories and people that give the region its character.

There is no group to keep up with and no fixed itinerary to follow. The day is yours.

We might visit one of the Clare Valley’s best-known names, then turn down a country road to a smaller cellar door you may never have found on your own. Depending on your interests, the day could include wineries such as Jim Barry, Skillogalee, Grosset or Sussex Squire, along with other places I think will suit you.

Your tastings are included, so you can simply enjoy the experience without thinking about tasting fees along the way.

Lunch is an important part of the day, not a quick stop between wineries. We’ll settle in for a long lunch at one of the Clare Valley’s leading winery restaurants, with venues such as Skillogalee, Bush DeVine or Reillys selected according to availability and the day we are creating.

Most importantly, there is time.

Time to stay a little longer when you find a wine you love. Time to talk with the people behind the cellar door. Time to enjoy the countryside, take photographs, or change direction because something interesting has come up.

I’m Charles, your local Clare Valley Guide, and I’ll look after the day from the time I collect you until I return you to your accommodation.
